Sustainability

With a background in environmental planning and sustainability this is really a huge deal for me. KALY times wraps are made in a very sustainable way and I do everything I can to make zero waste and use all fabric, yarn and rings. All wraps are made in my own home and mostly cut and sewn after you’ve placed an order and payments have been made. By doing that I make sure that the wraps I make is being used instead of just being *in stock*

When you order a wrap from KALY times, you will receive it in ECO packaging made out of 100 % recycled paper (FSC certified). Everything that we can’t use we recycle.

Good materials

I’m thinking A LOT about materials and how they’re made. I believe that the materials we choose to use on and near our bodies should be as chemical free and healthy for us as possible.

I’m working with a small european weaving mill and they’re doing such a great job. We only use european linen, wool and hemp and we have high standards for the silk and cotton we use. The fabric we use is OEKO-TEX 100 certified which means it has been tested for harmful substances and therefore is harmless for human health. All our wraps are made with linen warp which is such a great and sustainable choice. I can’t wait to show you more – KALY times is so much more than just a piece of fabric.

I only use natural materials in my baby wraps. The sewing thread I use is made out of cotton and not polyester (even though polyester is more common to use and cheaper). The only thing not all natural is the rings I use for ring slings. They’re made out of aluminum and made specially for baby wraps. They are lead and nickel free (non toxic) which means the world to me because I want to take care of you and your baby.

Slow fashion & zero waste

Every sling, wrap or carrier is sewn by me and they will mostly be made to order. This is the most sustainable way and I do it because I want my wraps/slings/carriers to hug babies all around the world. When you’ve put in an order and payments have been made I’ll start sewing and your parcel will be shipped within five business days. By doing this I’m cutting down on waste.

KALY times is making limited edition baby wraps. We don’t make the same fabric twice so if you fall in love with a pattern and colour I don’t recommend you to wait and see. You can always contact to me if you’re totally in love with a wrap but need to wait until next pay check for payments. Then we’ll make a special agreement.
